Michael leads a group of specialists who help organisations identify opportunities, execute growth strategies, manage risk, improve performance and leverage technology.

Prior to his consulting career, Michael spent 15 years in the dairy industry and had a variety of roles both in New Zealand and offshore, spanning technology, NPD, capital projects, operations, supply chain, strategy, marketing and global key account management. He was the practice manager of Management Toolbox Ltd, a successful team of organisational engineers, who were acquired by Grant Thornton in 2011 to build the firm’s consulting practice.

Michael’s main area of expertise is business improvement. He works to enhance profit and operations, enabling the systematic improvement of people, process and technology to increase bottom-line performance and deliver against corporate strategy. He has experience working with organisation optimisation of profit and performance, cost, working capital and assets, and the optimisation of specific functions of supply chain, manufacturing, finance, human resources and systems.

Michael has led a number of large projects focused on improving procurement activities and leading the deployment of initiatives to realise value and deliver multi-million dollar bottom line results. He also conducts strategic procurement reviews and consults on the formation of supplier partnerships and collaborative relationships.

Michael’s collaborative style has been effective in growing and advising businesses in several countries in industries such as infrastructure, energy, food and beverage, logistics, pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing and government.
