I approach audit issues with common sense to help organisations achieve efficient outcomes. Building quality relationships with clients ensures I have a deep understanding of their business strategies and how they currently operate; this also helps our team solve complex issues more effectively. With a hands-on approach, I am aware of the detail, but I also see the big picture ensuring any issues that arise from an audit are resolved quickly. As technology evolves, I look for better and more efficient ways to deliver audit engagements, ultimately benefitting both our audit team and our clients.
As a Financial Market Conduct licensed auditor, my clients include regulated and listed entities, and I work with mid-sized to large owner managed businesses. Continuous interaction with Board and management teams allows me to not only understand different stakeholders’ positions, but to resolve audit issues through constructive – and sometimes tough - conversations as well.
I also lead Grant Thornton New Zealand’s aged care services team, and work with organisations to overcome the unique and ever-increasing challenges faced by this vital industry.
