Grant Thornton today announced that Paige Cuthbert has been appointed as Chair of Grant Thornton New Zealand’s Board effective immediately. Based in Christchurch, Cuthbert is a highly experienced advisor and has over 30 years’ experience working closely with South Island businesses. Her extensive industry expertise includes agri-business, manufacturing and processing, fisheries, professional services, construction, and retail.

Russell Moore, National Managing Partner, Grant Thornton said, “Paige is a fantastic leader who has made a tremendous contribution to our firm’s people experience and culture since joining Grant Thornton in 2017.”

Cuthbert said, “Strong leadership and good governance are cornerstones of any successful business and there has never been a time when these have been more important. Kiwi businesses are facing unprecedented challenges and it’s an honour to play a pivotal role in helping them navigate their way through the current environment.

“My appointment to Chair of Grant Thornton will give me a broader focus both personally and professionally, and I look forward to playing my part in both our firm’s and our clients’ continued success”.

Prior to this appointment, Cuthbert was a Board member and previously sat on the Grant Thornton executive committee.

Moore also thanked Murray Brewer who is stepping down as Chair after serving the maximum term on the Board.

He said, “Murray has made a significant contribution to the firm’s strategy, its culture, and the growth of our people and clients over this time. He will continue to be a valued senior partner within our firm and a source of knowledge and expertise for our Board.
