New Zealand Relationship Property Survey 2019

Jay Shaw Jay Shaw

Research produced by Grant Thornton New Zealand and the New Zealand Law Society into the practise of relationship property law began in 2017 and continues to be one of the most comprehensive studies of its kind.

This year’s survey revealed that relationship property law practitioners are busy and believe that the demand for advice will increase over the next two years; many say that this will leave them with less time to spend in other family law areas.

The 2019 results also remain consistent with 2017 in terms of the significant legal work they undertake for New Zealanders in terms of their assets; in fact, practitioners are now advising on even higher value relationship property pools across New Zealand.
