A reference guide for making capital allocation decisions.
Research approach
The Capital Value Update is based on publicly available information for selected companies listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and Australian Stock Exchanges.
Our research provides reference data for the performance of companies in specific industry groups.
Some parameters are necessarily based on estimates where there is a lack of company specific data.
We have excluded negative and very high valuation multiples as these do not provide a meaningful interpretation of value.
Where there are limited numbers of companies in a particular industry group we have excluded the industry group or combined industry groups at our discretion.
The results should be taken as illustrative of parameters in a particular industry group rather than definitive.
We have grouped the universe of companies into in our sample sectors based on global industry classification standard codes developed by Standard & Poor’s and Morgan Stanley Capital International.
