Part 1 - Financial reporting update

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) and the Accounting Standards Review Board (ASRB) recently released discussion documents relating to a proposed new statutory framework for financial reporting and assurance. Find out:

  • what the proposals set out to achieve at a strategic level
  • which entities are likely to be most affected, and
  • what you should do next.

Part 2 – Tax update

We’ll focus on the recent changes from one of the largest tax bills to be enacted in recent years, and include an update on the Tax Working Group’s discussions papers including:

  • associated person rule changes, impact on the taxation on land transactions and the potential tax risk to property developers
  • international taxation developments
  • the possibility of a capital gains tax regime and tax relief measures introduced to assist SMEs
  • various miscellaneous developments.
