Barry Baker has worked for Chartered Accounting firms in Invercargill, Nelson and Wellington as well as American Express Business Services in New York during 2000.

He has been with Grant Thornton in senior positions for a number of years.

Barry has worked on a wide variety of ownership structures and businesses during his professional career including large corporate groups, rural businesses and mixed family enterprises. With this experience and his high technical ability in taxation and company law. Barry is well placed to advise on entity structural planning, setup and systems maintenance.

Barry has presented several in house and external education seminars on software trends; the practical basics of business records and dealing and effective debtor collection and cash flow monitoring.

Barry Baker has an extensive mix of experience and broad technical abilities. This provides a sound grounding for advice and guidance to clients on all matters to do with today’s business environment.

Outside Interests

Barry is a keen armchair sportsman, is a long-standing member of the Grant Thornton indoor netball team and enjoys the various recreational opportunities offered in metropolitan Wellington.
