Alastair has a career spanning more than 30 years of diverse audit and accounting work. He previously worked with the Securities Commission as chief accountant since 2005 where his focus was on private sector issues and securities law matters. He also worked at the Office of the Auditor-General for some 26 years in a variety of roles, latterly specialising in public sector issues.

He has the deep knowledge and skills needed to lead our Government advisory team and the ability to handle complex technical issues.

Alastair has a wider interest in good corporate governance, XBRL and sustainability issues.

Outside interests

In his spare time, Alastair enjoys gardening, landscape painting, motorcycling, music and running. He is also actively involved in growing Wellington’s Onslow Community Church.
