Director, Business Transformation
Twelve years ago, Ross created and led Management Toolbox Ltd, a very successful team of organisational engineers, who have now formed Grant Thornton New Zealand’s new Business Transformation service.
Prior to this he worked for Lion Nathan in various positions from financial controller to supply chain manager. He then moved to Fletcher Building where he worked as the procurement director. Here he developed and implemented a procurement strategy that created substantial value for the organisation. While at Fletcher Building he also created a centre of excellence in procurement practices.
Ross pioneered the development of the procurement discipline in New Zealand and continues to lead major procurement efforts with key clients. He has an outstanding ability to identify where opportunities lie within a business to improve its performance and can simplify business complexities. By taking into account many key aspects of a business – its people strategy, processes, technologies and information – Ross consistently delivers real solutions. These solutions are sustainable and have a direct and positive impact on a business’s bottom line.
Ross has worked with organisations within a wide variety of sectors including: agricultural, infrastructure, education, finance, utilities, Not for Profit, local and central government, retail and manufacturing.
He is an internationally recognised speaker. He regularly presents at procurement conferences both nationally and internationally. Due to his vast knowledge, Ross is often called upon by a number of clients to speak at internal conferences. He has had many articles published in a number of New Zealand magazines.
When not in the office Ross enjoys spending quality time with his family and watching a variety of sports. He also enjoys travelling and hopes to see more of the world in the coming years.
